The story of West Yellowstone
West Yellowstone is a small mountain town that has served as the western gateway to Yellowstone National Park since the early 1900s. Rustic storefronts, wooden boardwalks and signs pointing toward the park make its identity immediately recognizable. Beyond town are the forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife of Yellowstone country, including opportunities for fly fishing, wildlife watching and exploring the surrounding national forests. For Bench 73, it marks the point where the high desert and open highways give way to the forests and mountains of Montana—and the scenic final drive through Gallatin Canyon into Bozeman.
